Yuuki Slack

Yo-Yo Trick

Yuuki Slack Part 1:

The next trick is called Yuuki Slack. The trick was invented by Yuuki Spencer. On the first year, he did it at the World Yo-yo contest, everybody went crazy 'cause they had never seen anything like it and what you are actually doing is you pinch on the string, slacking it, and whipping it back and forth between your hands. Just like that. So let me show one more time what this looks like full speed, just like this. That's the whole trick right there. I'm going to break this down to the first step for you, start with the trapeze. What you're going to do is pinch your thumb against your pointer finger just like so and you're going to swing the yo-yo over and as you do this you actually take your non-throw hand and bring it in towards yourself, so just like this and you'll notice that the string actually slacks and flips over. And see, you can actually get into a Double or Nothing pretty quick like this. You pinch, swing over here into a Double or Nothing right there. Pinch, swing over. This is the first step to the Yuuki Slack trick, so one more time. You pinch, swing over-- it's the first step. The rest of the trick looks like this and we're going to talk about that in part two. For now, practice this part one, pinch, slack, get to that point. Part one of Yuuki slack.

Yuuki Slack Part 2:

This is Yuuki Slack part two. To get the part one, if you haven't already watched part one, you swing it over and pinch and you're there. Go watch part one if you haven't already and the whole trick looks like this and this is where the rest of part two comes into play. So what you want to do, get the part one. It's actually just a Double or Nothing. What you're going to do from here is you'll actually throw the yo-yo off from double or nothing and stick your middle finger out and what you're going to do as this happens is you're going to pinch with your thumb right there and you're going to let go of all the string from your throw hand. So as you pinch, let go of the string and continue swinging the yo-yo around and you'll notice that the string followed it as it did that. So let me show you one more time. I pinch, swing the string around as it comes underneath. I again pinch right there, let go of the string and this causes the string to rotate. The yo-yo goes around one full revolution and to two times almost and swings out from under the string. Let me show you one more time what that looks like as it comes off pinch string like that. So that's the first part of this part two here. After this move, you're actually just going to do the opposite. The yo-yo comes up onto where we've been double or nothing, you pinch again and this time you swing the yo-yo the other way. So swing it, one, two the other way just like that. And it's just constantly a repetition of these two moves. So the first part is just the Double or Nothing, you come underneath with your middle finger. You pinch with your thumb as you hit one, two. I'll show it to you again so one, two it comes underneath. Bring it up and over, pinch again one, two. You're actually back in the Double or Nothing then and you're ready to repeat the trick over and over again. So let me show you one more time what the whole trick looks like. Take a look at the different steps in it and watch the parts over and over again. Eventually, you'll be able to break it down and get it. That's Yuuki Slack.
